Koa is having a good day

Koa spent most of the day sleeping and when he wasn't sleeping he was either eating or checking out what was going on around him. The doctors decreased the oxygen flow from 1.5 to .3 litters per hour and his oxygen % from 30% to 100% this will get him ready for HOME. Because the oxygen concentrator the Koa will be coming home with you cant change the oxygen percentage but we can change the flow. We haven't been told what the settings should be before we can go home. We have been told that right now in order to come home Koa needs to start taking all of his feeds by bottle. He isn't doing bad at eating from a bottle. He just isn't very consistent some times he does great and other times he doesn't do very good at eating at all. I think that it is because he hasn't quite figured out how to suck the right way.
Koa was able to meet his aunt Shelby woo. It was kind of a indirect meeting because she isn't aloud to come into the NICU because of her age. So they saw each other through the windows in doors that are at the end of the hall Koa's room is on.
Thank you all for your prayers and support.
Thank you God for watching over Koa and Guiding the nurses and doctors in his care.
We love you all
Koa Courtnie and Jeremiah Bachert

Glad to hear he is nearing coming home time. Sounds like he is doing well on feedings and when he manages his sucking will be able to see the trail home. Can't wait to see him and you two at home in Fairbanks. Love to all Aunt Lori and all
