God has answered another prayer!

Surgery went good! This morning they took Koa to the OR early. Jeremiah was able to go with Koa down to the OR. He said Koa was smiling. Jeremiah came back and waited with me and our family. The surgery took about 2 hours. The Doctor came and said everything went well. He didn't do the hernia's in this surgery after the Doctor reconnected and made sure there wasn't anything else. He also took out his appendices. If he didn't, later in life Koa might have a problem with that. He said it would be a big surgery. After that he was going to do the hernia's but Koa's body temp went down a little.
After the surgery they told us that Koa might not move and open his eyes or anything cause he is on Morphine. Jeremiah and I talked to him and his eyes opened and he liked it when Jeremiah was holding his feet. If Jeremiah let go, Koa was not very happy.
Koa is back on the vent. They are not to sure when he will get off. They said probably in a week or so they will start the feeding at very slow, and work them up slowly.
Tonight we noticed that Koa didn't like when people would talk around him or even mess with him.
Pretty much everything is looking good.
Thank you everyone for all the prayers, love, and support.
Thank you God for helping Koa get through this day.
Love
Koa, Jeremiah and Courtnie

I'm so happy and relieved that the surgery went so well. It sounds like Koa came around very quickly after it and that's wonderful. Another hurdle is past you. The two of you have certainly been there in mind, body and spirit every step of the way. You are wonderful parents! Love to all of you, Jan

I am so glad to hear the surgery went well and that the doctor didn't push Koa farther when his temp went down. It's very important that they were paying attention to that.
We are going to say some extra prayers for Koa that he heals up from this and gets off his vent when he's ready.
Like Lori said get some rest for you two as well, you both deserve it.

Love-

Niki, Dave and Zack

Best news in the world. So glad the surgery went as expected and they didn't do everything at the same time. It's unbelievable what a strong little guy Koa is and more amazing the way he handles everything that is done to him.I'm sure you both are worn out and hopefully you can relax a little while he heals and gets well.We are praying for you and believe all the prayers from everyone are being answered. God bless - love & hugs Greatgrandma & Greatgrandpa C
