Koa had a rough night

This morning about 4am the surgery started to catch up with him. The doctors and nurses said that the fluid that has built up from the surgery went to his lungs. So when it does it makes it really hard for Koa's lungs to absorb oxygen. Right now he is between 60 and 80 percent oxygen on the ventilator. They started him on a medicine to make him pee so that the extra water he is holding will go away so we should start seeing an improvement in the next couple of days. Other than this he seems to be doing good. Just sleeping and healing. It seems like all things considered Koa has done very well with this surgery he has retained a lot less water than expected.
Thanks for all of the prayers and support.
Thank God for watching over Koa and healing him.
We love you all

Glad to hear that Koa is still as tough as ever. It sounds like this surgery has given him even a stonger resemblence to is daddy....full of piss and gas!! Poor Courtnie...how is she ever going to be able to share a home with the two of you?

It sounds like the Tamarac fire near Nenana is getteing a bit better under control. I read in today's paper that they have opened both lanes of the highway again so your drive back to Fairbanks later this week should not be hampered.

Tell my wife and your mom "hello" from her Fairbanks family. We're doiing fine but your dogs have been suffering from "cuddle withdraw" since she left. To punish me for my neglectfulness they got into the garbage yesterday and had it spread all over the living room when I came back into the house. I was not too pleased and banished them to the dog yard for several hours. They whined the whole time like a couple of babies.

Glad to hear he is doing better and they are managing his fluids too. It sounds like all things considered he faired fairly well from the surgery. Life is fine in Fairbanks-busy as usual. Can't wait til you come home and life can get back to somewhat of a normal routine. Love to all , PS give a kiss an hug to KOA, Jeremiah and Courtnie and say hi to Cindy too. Aunt Lori and all,.

Every day when I open the blogsite the anticipation of what news you have is very close at heart. Koa is such an amazing little man it's hard to fathom how he handles everything. Your being there is the most amazing help he could have and hearing your voices has to make him the happiest baby on earth. Glad things are progressing along with everyones help and watchful eye to handle whatever Koa needs. Love & hugs Greatgrandma & Greatgrandpa C.
