Today was a little bumpy!

Koa had a x-ray and it didn't look good at all. He was having trouble breathing because of the pneumonia. But by the end of the night he was doing a lot better.
They did a culture on the mucus from his chest. They send it to the lab to see if there is an infection and they let it grow up to seven days. The first two days nothing was growing. The third there was the pneumonia. Also the Doctors are doing everything they can and We feel comfortable with it all. If we didn't we would talk to them. Sorry if I didn't explain that better.
Thank you everyone for all the prayers and support.
Thank you God for everything that you have done for Koa and Us.
Love
Koa, Jeremiah and Courtnie

Courtney - You are doing a wonderful job with baby Koa. Your wisdom and resiliency through all of this is admirable. I'm so happy that Jeremiah is down there today to be with you and to get strength from each other. We can all learn a lot from the two of you! Love, Jan

I "second" Jan's statement about the way you and JB have been handling things and that we can learn a lot from your efforts!! My last message was not intended to imply any fault on the way you are dealing with Koa's doctors and I hope you (or anyone else) took it in such a way. You guys are doing GREAT.

I trust JB completed his drive to Anch. safely last night? (I heard from him that he was on his way but not when he arrived,,probably because of the late hour...he knows old guys like me like our sleep) I almost ended up spending last night stuck out by the river anyway. I had gone out there to check my burbot lines and the decaying snow atop the dike sucked my truck in pretty good.(of course my cell phone went dead at about the same time) Now that I don't have JB around to find trouble for me I guess I just need to go find it myself!...hmm...I wonder if I remember how :-) I took Scrub with me on last night's excursion instead of your two hounds. I was worried that your dogs might get into open water and Scrub had felt rather dejected when I left him home on my previous excursion. Maybe I will take Jez and Duke out tonight to someplace where they can't find as much trouble. They really love getting out to terrorize the tundra. I think Duke holds his pee for days just so he has enough to mark every shrub in a 2 square mile territory.

Anyway, I better get going. Give my grandson a "wink" from his poppa and tell him to open a can of "whoop_arse" on those bugs infecting his lungs. I'm still reserving him a spot along the best salmon run in the river for this summer and he will need those lungs to shout down any bear that wants to encroach on his spot!

It's hard to find words sometimes
except to send our incouragement and love for the way you are both handling everything. It's easy to be critical of the Dr.s. when we think they are not moving fast enough with their diagnosis and hopefully faster with curing them but I hope they are doing their best in every aspect of every challenge that comes along. You have faith in them and that's important. Take care give each other a hug from us - love you lots
