Today we found out the reason why Koa wasn't feeling good!

This morning I called and check up on Koa. The nurse said that he was doing good. But she had some bad news. My heart fell it seemed. She said that he has pneumonia and a urine tract infection. But the good news is that they put him on antibiotics right way when they found out. I talked to the PA and she said he will get over it. They are hoping that they caught it in time. It is caused from the Vent tube. That's is the reason why they want him off of it. He doesn't seem to be a yellow as much. He might be peeing the jaundice off which would be cool.
This afternoon he needed a blood transfusion. He looks really good now. I was able to hold him tonight. He is to cute. He seems to be more alert. In the morning they will be doing some lab work to check his Billi Direct. And also they will be doing an x-ray.
Thank you everyone for all the prayers and support.
Thank you God for keeping Koa strong.
Love
Koa, Jeremiah and Courtnie

Tell those over-egoed dorky Docs to get their arses going. That boy needs to lay on some muscle if he is going to be ready for the quickly approaching salmon hordes.
S
eriously...I would be a thorn in their butts a bit about why it took them several days to determine Koa had those infections...I would think the lab results should have indicated this sooner. I know...spring is in the air and even doctors and nurses begin day-dreaming of sunny days a bit. But damn it,,, they get paid the BIG bucks and besides...this is MY fishing buddy they are messing with! Tell them that if they mess up again the Fairbanks Mohawk man is going to come down to that festering puss-hole of a city in search of doctor gonads to use as fish bait!! If that doesn't scare them, tell them that Mohawk Man will send his WIFE down there to collect his fish bait!

Love all you guys. and Courtnie,,,I am really proud of you and the way you are handling things with JB working in FBKS duriing the week.

Well each day brings some news. Glad they finally decided what was happening to our little guy! Love the picture - I think its one of the cutest so far - though they are all really cute. We're very proud of Courtnie too taking on the task of dealing with all the staff til Jeremiah can come down on weekends. There is nothing more protective than a MOM when it involves her child no matter what the age! Keep up the good work Courtnie!!:)Jeremiah we are proud of you too, Dads have a totally different role to play to take care of the family and you are doing a great job. Koa is doing his best too and hopefully it won't be too very long til the weight comes on and he is stronger.
Love you guys - take care Hugs Greatgrandma & Greatgrandpa C.

Courtnie,Miah and Koa,
You are gaining alot of knowledge through experience at a young age. You are both amazing in your relatively new roles as Mom and Dad and Koa knows he is lucky to have you as his parents. Mohawk Man is right....sometimes movin' and shakin' is needed to snap those docs and wake em up. Never be afraid of offending or questioning medical personnel with your questions or demands for your son, cuz if Mohawk Man's Wife comes there, Grandma Bear is going to do a whole lot of educating, Alaska style....and that's why I love my big sis, she is strong-willed, sensitive, intelligent...amazing woman that Grandma Bear is. So believe that Courtnie, Miah and Koa...there are alot of family looking out for you and WE LOVE YOU!

Courtney, Jeremiah and Koa-

I didn't realize Jere was driving back and forth so much. It must be stressful but I know when you need money you need money. I am glad that you (Courtney) are being strong enough to stay in Anchorage by yourself during the days Jeremiah is up here, And I am glad Miah can still go and spend time with both you and Koa.
I am thrilled that they figured out whats going on with koa, but I have to agree with Tom that they are being a bit of pains with this whole thing and if that was the problem they should have figured it out sooner. I am just going to keep praying that he gets better soon. Dave and I think of you daily and we are always praying for you.
Love-

Niki, Dave and Zack
